Lafayette Square was designed in 1873 to honor the Marquis de Lafayette, who aided the Americans during the Revolutionary War. In the center sits a fountain dedicated by the Colonial Dames of America.

Our bridal suite is on our upper floor with grand views of Forsyth Park and the surrounding area.  Exception feminine craftwork has been preserved from the houses' building in 1893, reminding guests that this room belonged to the original lady of the Forsyth Park Inn, Anna Churchill.  Adorned with 12ft doors and 14ft ceilings, this corner bedroom is complete with a king size four-poster bed, whirlpool tub, and beautiful views. 

Major General Nathanael Greene was a hero of the American Revolution.  His successful command of the southern theater of the conflict is part of the reasons the United States became the country it is today.  Savannah honors him with Greene Square and we honor his name with one of our family oriented rooms.  Greene's square is also the home to the famous Second African Baptist Church, built in 1802.  

Our room, Greene, is an honor to his legacy.  A beautifully sculpted room, bearing original wood work from the 1800s.  This room was originally a study, and the beautifully handcrafted custom wood paneling reminds you of a different time, when the owner of the house, Aaron Rudder Churchill founded his cotton conglomerate.  Sporting 2 queen bed and a historic, non-working, fireplace, spa bath, 14 ft ceilings, 12 ft doors, you'll fall in love with this exquisite room.  An excellent room to enjoy a get away to Savannah.  Please note we base our pricing on double occupancy, there will be a $30 extra guest fee for parties sleeping more than 2 in this room.

General James Edward Oglethorpe was a British general, philanthropist, and the founder of the colony of Georgia. He is best known for establishing Savannah in 1733 with the intention of providing a fresh start for England's poor and persecuted. Oglethorpe's vision for Savannah included a unique and innovative city plan, featuring a grid layout with numerous public squares, which encouraged a sense of community and green space. Oglethorpe Square, named in his honor, is one of the original four squares he designed and remains a testament to his thoughtful urban planning. Located in the heart of Savannah's historic district, Oglethorpe Square is surrounded by historic buildings and shaded by ancient live oaks, offering both residents and visitors a serene spot to appreciate the city's rich heritage and architectural beauty.

Oglethorpe at the Forsyth Park Inn is located on our top floor, with a grand four poster king sized bed, seating area, sitting area, wet-bar, antique non-working tiled fireplace and a beautiful view of Forsyth Park. Masculine features within the room remind you that this room belonged to the original master of the house, with tile work in the fireplace dating back t0 the 1800s.  The bathroom features an antique claw-foot soaking tub, original marble work and a shower.

The square formally known as Calhoun was designed in 1851 and named in honor of John C. Calhoun, a South Carolina statesman and Vice President under John Quincy Adams and Andrew Jackson. It's the only square where all of the original historic buildings remain. Calhoun Square has since been renamed Taylor Square in honor of Susie King Taylor. Born into slavery, Susie King Taylor was secretly educated by her freed grandmother in Savannah. At age 14, she became the first black teacher to educate African Americans in Georgia and served as a nurse during the American Civil War. She later opened a school in Savannah for African-American children and published a memoir about her experience with the 33rd United States Colored Troops.

Chatham Square, located in Savannah, Georgia, is one of the city's picturesque and historically significant squares. Chatham at the Forsyth Park Inn is a garden level bedroom with two queen size four-poster beds, separate seating room featuring an antique mahogany non-working fireplace and original heart pine floors. The bathroom has been recently renovated wit a standup shower.  A perfect retreat for family or friends traveling together.

Pulaski Square, established in 1837, is a serene and picturesque spot in Savannah, Georgia, named in honor of General Casimir Pulaski, a Polish nobleman and hero of the American Revolutionary War who died in the Siege of Savannah in 1779. Known for its abundant greenery, Pulaski Square is adorned with towering live oaks draped in Spanish moss and lush azaleas that create a tranquil atmosphere. Unlike many of Savannah’s squares, Pulaski Square has remained largely unchanged, preserving its original charm without the addition of monuments or statues. Our Pulaski is an upper level bedroom, with a glorious king size bed, whirlpool tub and exquisite views of Forsyth Park.  The bathroom has a 3 step stair case, one of the most unique quirks of the Forsyth Park Inn.  Adorned with an original non-working mahogany fireplace, 14 ft ceilings and a 12 ft oaken door, you'll feel in a different era of history in this beautiful and spacious room.

Whitefield Square, established in 1851, is one of Savannah's later squares and is named in honor of Reverend George Whitefield, an influential figure in the early history of Georgia. Whitefield was a key founder of the Bethesda Orphanage, the oldest extant charity in North America. The square is renowned for its charming gazebo, which stands as a focal point amid the lush landscaping and towering live oaks draped with Spanish moss. Surrounded by beautiful Victorian homes, Whitefield Square exudes a quaint and tranquil atmosphere, making it a popular spot for weddings and community gatherings. Our Whitefield originally was a room for the children.   A 12 foot window opens onto a private patio for you to relax and enjoy during your time in Savannah.  Adorned historic non-working fireplace with original tile work, you'll enjoy a cozy and private retreat in this upper floor bedroom with a queen sized bed.

Ellis Square, one of Savannah's original four squares laid out by General James Oglethorpe in 1733, holds a unique place in the city's history. Named after Henry Ellis, the second Royal Governor of Georgia, the square has undergone significant transformations over the centuries. In the mid-20th century, Ellis Square was controversially replaced by a parking garage, but thanks to extensive preservation efforts, it was restored and reopened in 2010. Today, Ellis Square is a vibrant and bustling public space featuring open lawns, interactive fountains, and seating areas that invite relaxation and community gatherings. Its contemporary design blends seamlessly with the surrounding historic architecture, creating a harmonious balance between Savannah's rich past and its dynamic present. Monterey Square, one of Savannah's most picturesque and historically rich squares, was established in 1847 to commemorate the Battle of Monterrey during the Mexican-American War. This charming square is situated in the heart of Savannah's historic district and is renowned for its stunning architecture and lush, shaded environment. Dominating the square is the Pulaski Monument, an impressive tribute to General Casimir Pulaski, a hero of the American Revolutionary War. Surrounding the square are some of Savannah's most exquisite buildings, including the Mercer-Williams House, famous for its architectural beauty and its role in the book "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil." Our Monterey was originally a sun room for the house, converted into a bedroom in the early 1900s as the Forsyth Park Inn was used as a nurse's dormitory.  The character left from that remodel leads you to one of the most interesting floor plans available at the inn.  Complete with a private seating area directly above our courtyard, 14ft ceilings, and private dining table, you will enjoy a quiet retreat during your time to our fair city.   

Chippewa Square, one of Savannah's most iconic squares, is renowned for its historical significance and charming ambiance. Established in 1815, the square was named in honor of the Battle of Chippewa during the War of 1812, a conflict where American forces secured a significant victory. Chippewa Square is famously known for its central bronze statue of General James Oglethorpe, the founder of Savannah, which proudly overlooks the space. The square is enveloped by a blend of historic buildings, quaint shops, and vibrant eateries, adding to its lively atmosphere. Additionally, Chippewa Square gained widespread recognition as the filming location for the famous bench scenes in the movie "Forrest Gump," where the character portrayed by Tom Hanks recounted his life stories.
